DAY 17 - 16/11/2023

Today I watched a film that I saw three times in the cinema. If it wasn't for the pandemic that number would be a lot higher. But I'm glad I found the time to watch this film today.

That film is, of course, Matt Reeves's The Batman (2022).

There are some films that would guarantee my attendance in a cinema more than once and this most definitely was one such film. The cinematography was bold for a comic book-inspired film, treating not just the lights with care but knowing how to use darkness as well.

Greg Fraiser the Director of Photography announced himself with both Dune (2021) and just a year later, The Batman (2022). You couldn't ask for a better ticket to Hollywood.

The film while long, had an infectious atmosphere and it is a credit to the sound design and production design teams because they just outdid themselves. The film was as close to my own ideal Batman film if I were the director, It had all the elements I've been wanting to see in a Batman film.

We've seen the fighter but not much of the detective side of Batman and honestly, this film was just beautiful in all aspects.

My Rating: 9/10.
