Happy November my fellow fiends! Yes it's almost over and I have been away a while but alas the game of life isn't that easy to play sometimes. I'll be taking a short reprieve from my Batman activity to bring you some Christmas fare this year. This time of year is the busiest time of year for me and my family. Decorations, trees, presents, food and whatnot are the never-ending topics being discussed 24/7. Amidst the chaos that is my family, peace reigns all but two times in the month of December. When we eat, and when we watch a Christmas film. So I thought id give anyone reading this 10 more films to choose from to watch on Christmas Day.
Let's begin with the most obvious pick of the ten, Frank Capra's enduring Christmas classic, It's A Wonderful Life (1946). Starring Jimmy Stewart & Donna Reed, this film is without a doubt the most famous Christmas film in existence. It's the kind of film most of the millennial generation has heard of but probably not seen. Well, nows the time to check it out. Yes it's old, it's in black and white and the resolution is probably trash to your eyes, but if you can be patient and accept the film for when it was made, I'm certain you'll have a memorable watching experience.

Watching Recommendation: Watching this film with close friends, loved ones and family members is HIGHLY recommended.
Number 9, is a gem for the 90s kids. Home Alone (1990) is a film that every 90s kid should be familiar with. It's a classic in its own right. I mean the first one. the one that came out this year need not be mentioned. Like, ever. The original film stars, Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci Devin Ratray and Daniel Stern head up an amazing cast with a story that'll have you crying tears of laughter throughout. It's the quintessential 90s pick.

Watching Recommendation: Watch this film with any 90s kid and let the nostalgia train take you away. If they don't know this movie, you either show them the light or the door.
Endlessly quotable and entirely bombastic, Die Hard (1988) is one of those Christmas films that just stay with you. Bruce Willis battles Europe's snobbiest villains on Christmas making it a great hang out film to get those sleigh bells ringing. Also, it's one of the greatest action films ever made so pick your poison.

Watching Recommendation: Meeting new people on Christmas is either awkward or odd. Need an icebreaker? Yippee ki yay mother-. You know where I'm going with this.
At seven we are indeed not in heaven with this pick. As always Christmas is meant to be a happy time of year. However, should you be feeling a tad bitter or cynical about the whole commercialisation of Christmas, don't worry. I haven't forgotten about you guys. Take a gander at Scrooged (1988), a Richard Donner film that stars Bill Murray as a selfish and bitchy TV Executive. Oh and if there are any bookworms out there, yes it's the one based on that Dickens book, A Christmas Carol.

Watching Recommendation: Use this film as a soundboard for your unhappy feelings on Christmas day. When those end credits roll, let those feelings go. Christmas is a day when no one should be bitter, sad or alone. Smile my friend, smile.
At 6 we have a rather divisive pick. Richard Curtis's Love Actually (2003) has been accepted, rejected, applauded and cursed all in the same breath. The film boasts an all-star cast with Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley, Emma Thompson and Colin Firth just a few among a slew of well-known faces. This is a Rom-Com that pokes at the subject of love with an unfair yet annoyingly sweet with its tone.

Watching Recommendation: Need something to hate-watch? I got you covered.
Number 5 is a Will Ferrell classic. Elf (2003) is a heartwarming and hilarious addition to this list. It's a film that was made for every kid who wondered, "I wonder what it'd be like to grow up in the North Pole?"

Watching Recommendation: Watch this with your kid/kids. They need an answer to that little question in their heads. If you don't have any... well then you be the kid.
Number 4 is by a director that just loves the holidays. Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) is an animated pick that brings the sleigh bells ringing with a spooky tone. The catchy soundtrack will inspire spontaneous dancing from your family members, no doubt.

Watching Recommendation: This film works for both Christmas and Halloween. It's a 2-for-1 deal. You're welcome.
At number 3 we have a little something to make your hearts flutter. Kate Winslet is the queen of the skies as far as I'm concerned. As such, The Holiday (2006) is a great pick should you want to fall in love with her all over again.

Watching Recommendation: Who doesn't want a little love on Christmas? A couples thing no doubt.
Number two is a little something to ensure that your Christmas nights are something to remember. By the legendary Stanley Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut (1999) is a steamy pick to get mommy and daddy going.

Watching Recommendation: Before "bedtime". Definitely before "bedtime".
Number one is probably my favourite Christmas anime ever, Tokyo Godfathers (2003). By the amazing Satoshi Kon, this film will break your heart, but it is an unequalled cinematic experience.

Watching Recommendation: You don't watch it. You experience it.
Thank you all for reading! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas this year! Take care and stay safe!
Yes lah Die Hard and Eyes Wide Shut
Love all these films but I haven't seen Scrooged or Tokyo Godfathers!!! Will be sure to add them to the watchlist!!!
